It’s Day 2 of my FREE Makeover Your Mindset Challenge – I hope you’re loving it so far!
Today is all about leveraging social media for personal growth.
What you feed your mind matters, especially if you’re doing it every day. While scrolling through Instagram in bed isn’t the most productive habit… if you’re going to do it you may as well make it empowering!
Below is your assignment for the next 24 hours.
It’s for you to do with your most used social media account and it’s truly incredible how much mental clarity you can create by giving your social media feed an intentional refresh. Please don’t underestimate the power of this!
Step 1: Set a timer for 5 minutes and unfollow as many accounts as you can that aren’t adding value to your day.
I recommend doing assignment from your feed, rather than the list of accounts you follow – it’s much quicker because you’ll be able to start with the accounts you engage with the most. And if you’re not comfortable unfollowing someone, you can simply mute them.
Bonus: If you find yourself on roll, keep unfollowing/muting accounts until Instagram tells you that you’ve reached the end of your feed. Getting your account to this point is an AMAZING way to snap yourself out of mindset scrolling, as you won’t have anything to mindlessly scroll through. It’s been a game changer for me!
Step 2: Set a timer for 10 minutes and find 3 new empowering people or accounts to follow.
Now that you’ve done a little tidy up, it’s time to inject a healthy dose of inspiration.
Find 3 new accounts to add to your feed by: going to one of your favourite accounts and using the dropdown arrow to see similar accounts, looking at who your favourite accounts repost, searching hashtags, googling instagram account recommendations etc.
Step 3: Tell me once you’re done!
Once you’ve completed today’s assignment, send me an email at sam@smart-twenties.com to say ‘done!!’. I’d LOVE to hear from you.
Love doing this with you,
Sam xx
