In today’s episode, I’m going to be sharing a recording of myself answering some of the most frequently asked questions that we get about my program perfectionist getting shit done. So if you’re a lurker, and you’re thinking about signing up and you have some questions, but you haven’t reached out yet to get them answered, then this episode is for you. Before we get into it, though, I want to mention a couple of things. So first of all, we are strict with our enrollment period, and enrollment is closing soon. So at 11:59pm, New York time on the 21st of March 2024, we are going to be closing the doors to PGSD. And they’ve only been open for this week before that they were closed as well.
So if you are thinking about signing up for PGSD, don’t procrastinate. Get your questions answered, either from this episode, or by reaching out to support at samlaurabrown.com. Make that decision and then join us inside if it’s a yes. The second thing I want to mention is that at the moment, I am the primary coach at PGSD. I am on most of the coaching calls, if you are wanting to get coached by me inside PGSD, now is the time to sign up. So later this year, and we haven’t confirmed the date yet. But later this year, we are going to be launching an advanced offer an advanced program for our students who are ready to do advanced work who have already mastered power planning and done that foundational work and they are ready to take things to the next level.
And to really get out of their own way. Now that they are showing up consistently, and they are confidently putting themselves out there. There’s that next layer of work to do. So I’m going to be creating that. And once that is available, I’m going to be coaching there, I’m not going to be the head coach inside PGSD, I’m still going to be overseeing everything, of course, but we will be bringing back our PGSD coaches. So if you are wanting to have me coach, you, then make sure you sign up for PGSD during this enrollment period, because I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be available to coach you inside PGSD.
We have had PGSD coaches before and our PGSDers love them so much. But if you have been thinking I’d love to get coached by Sam, then now is definitely the time to sign up. And I also want to mention as well, that we will be doing the Get out of your own way challenge live together as a community, starting on the first of April, if you do have something going on, then you need to adjust the dates, we can help you do that inside. But as a community, we will be working through the Get out of your own way challenge, which is really going to kick start your journey inside PGSD, and get you implementing everything and showing up in a really safe way, you’re not going to have to do anything you don’t want to do, you’re not going to be working too fast for you to handle and putting yourself out there in a way that freaks you out. We’re all about helping you get shit done without burning out and without freaking yourself out.
So we’re going to have this challenge that we work through together as a community so that you are really able to have this start to the year that you wish you had in January. And to close out this intro I want to mention as well that PGSD is a lifetime access program. So last year, we experimented with PGSD being a 12 month program. And we have since granted everyone who signed up last year lifetime access. Because what we discovered is that having PGSD be lifetime access really supports our best people to sign up to actually make that decision because of our perfectionist brain that we love to think, okay, when’s the perfect 12 month, I need to make sure that I’m feeling amazing and motivated. And I didn’t have any vacations coming up or anything unexpected. And that really just had so many people last year that we were able to help not actually make that decision to sign up because they were waiting for the perfect time.
So PGSD has returned to being a lifetime access program. As I mentioned, there is an advance of her coming. So it’s not like you’re going to be inside PGSD forever and doing that foundational work, you will be able to graduate from that and get to the point where you are showing up consistently and confidently putting yourself out there you are making decisions and not getting stuck in research mode or the editing phase of content creation, you are doing the things you know you need to do to make money in your business, and you are actually experiencing that momentum in your business.
So when it comes to how long you will be engaged in PGSD it really depends if you want to work through it in a more intensive manner, or you prefer to space it out everyone has different preferred paces of working and different seasons of life that they’re in. But just know that you don’t need to decide when is the perfect time to sign up. Because you will have access to everything in PGSD for as long as you need it. And the reason I love it being lifetime access to is so that you always have access to the foundational teachings about power planning. So anytime I update those, you have all of that there for you and you always have access to the coaching calls on that foundational work that you need to do on your perfectionism. So without further ado, let’s get into the recording of myself answering some of the most frequently asked questions that we get about perfectionist getting shit done.
So I just want to make you know what PGSD is? So PGSD stands for Perfectionist Getting Shit Done. It is my group coaching program for perfectionist business owners to have them get out of their own way. So if you are someone who has been doing a lot of procrasti-learning, maybe that has been taking online marketing courses, listening to podcasts, reading books, you know a lot about what you need to do. Also in your personal development journey, you know, things that you know what to do, and you’re just not able to get yourself to do it. That is where we come in, we teach you how to plan properly as a perfectionist, which is the first step in getting out of your own way. And we have you set your growth goal and using power planning to pursue it.
And that will bring up all the perfectionist who work you need to do. And then you’re able to get coaching and support on anything that comes up as you are doing. So you’ll also get lifetime access to the program, which basically just means that you will get support with perfectionism, for as long as you need it. We have coaching calls that we offer all year round, and they are ongoing continuously. So there are so many opportunities for you to get support to make like minded friends who actually get what it’s like to have a business who get what it’s like to be a perfectionist. So yeah, that’s a little bit about the program. And you can go to samlaurabrown.com/pgsd to sign up, we are strict with our deadlines. If you are thinking about it, make sure you go and sign up and join us in the program.
So I’m gonna go through these questions. I’ve had a few people reach out and say, I can really relate to what you speak about. But I’m not sure if I am a perfectionist. So I’ve spoken about this a lot on Instagram and on my podcast, the perfectionism project. But I just want to mention that when it comes to perfectionism, that tends to manifest for most perfectionist, as wanting to avoid anything that’s imperfect or doing things that are imperfect or looking imperfect, less than it is about being perfect all the time. So a lot of us have this idea that perfectionist are the people who actually manage to be perfect, and who are neat and organized and detail oriented.
And for perfectionist most of the time, it looks like procrastination, overwhelm, burnout, or nothing thinking and fear of judgment. And a lot of times when a perfectionist starts a business, they take the mindset that work for them well in school, we’d had them working in the last minute. And just following the rules, they take that mindset to business. And when we do that we get in our own way we aren’t able to put ourselves out there, we find that we’re always wanting to make the right decision and needing to do a lot of research and learning in order to make that happen, which means we’re not doing much, we need to put things out perfectly.
So that means we don’t do it at all. And we really get in our own way, and slow our business growth down, which means we’re not able to help all the people that we want to and it might be that my guess is you did well in school. And when you worked in a job you did well in that environment as well. And then when it gets to business, like hang on a second, why do I feel paralyzed with overwhelm and indecision and procrastination. So if you can relate to that, that’s who we help in PGSD. So does PGSD helped me get clear about exactly what I want to do, I’m unsure about the direction I want to take and how to make it come together. So first of all, PGSD is for business owners. So you need to be committed to building your business.
If you are like I’m not sure if I really want to be in business or not, then you need to make that decision before joining PGSD. But if you are committed to building your business, and you are stuck, you are not able to figure out maybe your target audience or niche, you’re not able to figure out your pricing, how to name somebody what social media platform to be on. Because so many different ways that we get stuck when we’re in our own way when we are committed to our business, but we’re just not able to take those next steps forward. So PGSD for sure, is definitely going to be able to help you get unstuck and figure out which direction to take.
And I really want to invite you to join us before you get unstuck. I had a few people message me and say hey, do I need to figure out my target audience for example, before I joined, we are going to help you get out of your own way and make those decisions and do that in a way where you can make that decision that is best for you in your business and follow through on that and continue to make decisions and continue to follow through. The second question is PGSD a good fit for me if I’m not sure about my niche yet? So basically just added to that, but yes, if you are committed to building your business, but you have been in a bit of niche drama or working in your messaging for a long time, you’re trying to get that perfect sentence. Keep up, keep updating your Instagram bio, things like that. Definitely join. And we will help you to figure that out.
And we will do that by really looking at your mindset and getting you out of your own way in the perfectionism, we’re not going to be telling you, here’s a formula for picking your niche, you already know that, and you’re overthinking it. So what we’re gonna do is have you take everything you already know about the niche and messaging and all of that, and actually make that decision for yourself and do that in a way where you’re actually able to follow through on it. Is PGSD just for coaches or other kinds of entrepreneurs? Or do you have members who are creatives and artists making money from that art? So PGSD is for all kinds of business owners. So we definitely have creatives like fashion designers, we have artists, we do have coaches, we have Etsy sellers, ecommerce store owners YouTubers. Who else do we have? Stylists, graphic designers, photographers, real estate agents.
So perfectionism has this way of coming up in business, no matter what kind of business you have, it looks very similar. And there might be different kinds of tasks that you were struggling with to the ones that I’m giving examples around. But the way that we get in our own way when it comes to business, and putting ourselves out there and presenting ourselves to clients and customers and figuring tech things out. It’s all very similar for different kinds of businesses, but we definitely have artists and creatives, making money inside PGSD. Its a good fit for me if the task that tripped me up and my business, different from the examples he shared on the podcast. Yes. Yeah, so if you can’t relate to the specific tasks I talked about, but you can relate to everything else, you’re overwhelmed, you’re procrastinating, you’re not planning properly currently, and you want to be then 100%, join us in PGSD. How do I know PGSD won’t be more procrasti-learning. So PGSD really is the antidote to procrasti-learning.
We know that getting in your own way, often for most perfectionist looks like procrasti-learning, procrasti-researching, and wanting to get the right answers before we take that next step. So a lot of our most successful PGSDers have already done marketing courses, online or different programs to help them actually develop their business. And what they have found is that they’re not actually able to implement what they have learned about business, because of the perfectionism. And they might have been jumping from course to course to course, trying to find the right method or strategy, thinking that if I can just find a formula, a strategy that I can follow through on, then that’ll solve that problem. If I can just find the right one, that I won’t be in my own way.
And because the problem isn’t the strategy, the problem is the perfectionism, then that means that we sign up for all of these different things. And we just get more and more frustrated and feel more and more ashamed that we aren’t able to actually do the things when you see others out there implementing. And most programs are going to talk about things, especially in terms of business as if you don’t have a procrastination problem, as if you have no issues whatsoever telling all of your friends and family about your business. And as if you can, you know, there’s a schedule in your calendar, and that you just know how to do that. And that you don’t put way too much on your plate when you do.
So I found at least personally, when I had been in so many programs, there are so many pieces that they just kind of assume you already have that, that if you don’t do the work on perfectionism, that it’s great. And you can learn a lot and there’s so much value in terms of intellectual knowledge, but you’re not actually able to implement. So we have you actually learning how to implement what you already know. A lot of other programs as well, if they do talk about procrastination, or mindset and that kind of thing. They’ll just talk about it very briefly. And they will give you a lot of tips around procrastination, for example, that aren’t going to work for a perfectionist. Say for example, delete the Instagram app of your phone, use internet blockers to block the internet so you can focus in that kind of thing that might work short term, very short term, but aren’t actually going to help you beat procrastination properly.
So that’s what we help you with inside PGSD. For example, we have a whole module on procrastination, and we do a lot of coaching on that on the coaching calls. So going back to the question, How do I know PGSD isn’t more procrast-leaserning? So PGSD is actually what is going to help you implement and take action and all those things you already know you are going to be able to actually do them. So procrasti-learning is where learning without taking action. What you’re going to be doing in PGSD is called perfection is getting shit done for a reason, you will be getting shit done. So we don’t have the program set up so that you have to spend hours and hours and hours and hours learning all these things before we can do anything. It’s set up and distilled down so that it doesn’t take you much time at all to start getting out of your own way. And you still have plenty of time left in the week.
Even if you’re working a full time job. Even if you have kids, even if you have a health issue and other stuff going on, that you are going to have enough time to do PGSD. And also to do the work you need to do in your business. So we are there to really support you in doing the things you need to do. In the PGSD process, you will be learning how to do that. So you’ll be learning, you’ll be setting up your growth goal, I’d be loading power planning a bit later about clean rest, you’ll be getting coaching, we watching others get coached. And for example, you do that via mainly the PGSD private podcast, so that even if you don’t have a whole lot of time to be sitting down at your desktop, logged into a course platform, we just have a PGSD website and our own dedicated forum.
But even if you don’t have a lot of time to do that, like the people we help we’re busy people. So we have the PGSD private podcast, so that you can listen to the coaching call replays when you are walking your dog when you’re grocery shopping, when you’re doing your morning routine and making breakfast so that you can really be surrounded by the principles in PGSD and all the other PGSDers who are getting out of their own way and going through the same things as you without having to have all this dedicated time to sit down and log in and have your notebook out. We really have everything distilled down. So the PGSD modules, each module has 415 minute lessons. And we’ve also put them all together in the podcast for you. So you can just listen to them all there if that is easier for you.
So we have really set PGSD up knowing that you want to procrasti-liearn knowing that you would love if you just got in there. And now there’s so many things for you to watch and do. But we want to have you actually taking all the things you already know, and doing something with it because I so strongly believe that the world is changed by profitable businesses with fulfilled business owners. And that is what we are doing in PGSD. That is the contribution that we’re making. And so we don’t want to have you just spending all your time watching stuff and learning things, you’re definitely going to learn things, but you’re going to learn it by doing. And that’s why PGSD is really for people who are committed to their personal growth and committed to their business and being willing to be uncomfortable because there have been some people before who’ve joined PGSD.
And they just wanted to learn more stuff. And they didn’t want to get out of their own way. We are really helping people who are ready to get out of their own way who are so sick of the self sabotage was sick of writing long to do lists of things that they never actually tick off and just they rewrite the issue and CV days later, because they’re so far behind. And we help people who have no books full of business ideas, they haven’t done anything with. We help people who are ready, and willing and able and committed to doing the work on their perfectionism. They’re not just looking for a quick fix, and trick and hack and that kind of mentality, they are really willing to do the work to plan properly. And that means planning in a way that you can actually follow through on.
So much of the planning advices out there doesn’t actually work perfection is really mean to plan in a particular way. And PGSD we teach power planning, you’ll learn exactly what to do in your Power Hour, the little tweaks, the weekly review, you get all the support that you need, when you are making the three month commitment to that. So you will really be doing the work to get out of your own way. And that’s often uncomfortable. So if you are not yet ready, and it’s okay if you’re not. But if you are not yet ready to actually start getting out of your own way, if you’re kind of like actually I just want to keep learning a bit more and not really sure about if I want to build this business, then that’s okay.
But we really help entrepreneurs of all kinds who are committed to building their business and committed to getting out of their own way. And they’re at that point with us so sick of learning shit and not doing anything with it. They are ready to actually do the real work on their perfectionism. And they’re willing to do the real work to get out of their own way. I have an idea to start a business but I haven’t started yet. Will PGSD be a good fit for me? So if you have an idea, but you haven’t started yet, you can join PGSD if you are committed to making that business work. But if you’re like, I’m not actually sure that I want to do this business, then I really want you to be deciding that before you join, we want to have you committed to your business, instead of being on the fence about I’m not really sure if business is for me.
And on the topic of that, I know that perfectionism, and this is from personal experience, perfectionism can make us feel like maybe we’re no cut out for business. And we’re not these natural born entrepreneurs. And I especially felt like this because I did really well, in an environment where I was working for others, I enjoyed it, I got along well with other people put in mind having a boss. And so I was like, Maybe I shouldn’t be a business owner because I work well for others. And there are so many people who talk about entrepreneurs being people who can’t stand to work for anyone else. And if you are somebody who can’t stand to work for anyone else, great that I just want to offer for anyone else who’s like me who was like, actually, I could be fine working for other people. That doesn’t mean you can’t figure it out business.
And a lot of times, it’s that perfectionism that is making us feel like we don’t have what it takes. Because we’re like, I know what to do. I’m just not doing it. And maybe I’m not an entrepreneur, you are an entrepreneur. And you just need to learn how to get out of your own way. So the next question, can I pay for PGSD in another currency, so it will be charged in US dollars, however, you can pay in your local currency, and it will be converted, and you can pay via PayPal or credit card. So we have pgcs, from all over the world. Yeah, so you won’t be the only one paying in another currency. How much time will you recommend dedicating to PGSD per week if I was going to join the program? So per week, now, this looks different for everyone. And a lot of PGSDers find that they want to spend a lot of who will listen to the private podcast, because it’s so easy to listen to, you just need a couple of hours per week in the beginning to learn the concepts. And then you need two hours per week for power planning.
So that’s probably going to be less time than you spend currently writing vague to do lists and rewriting them, but it’s going to be an hour for your power hour. And in PGSD, there’s an exact process to go through in the Power Hour, so that you know exactly what to do with every kind of task, business tasks, life admin tasks, family dinners, whatever it is, you know where to put them. So you will be doing your Power Hour, and then you’ll be maybe spending about five minutes each day doing little tweaks to your calendar to keep it workable. And then you’ll be spending about 20 to 30 minutes, maybe 10, maybe longer if you want to on doing your weekly review a lot of our PGSDers also post that weekly review in their persistence log in the PGSD forum to keep themselves accountable, I don’t think is on this list. But I have gotten questions about does PGSD, help you stay accountable?
Do we keep you accountable. And so one of the tools that we have is the persistence log section in our PGSD forum, a lot of PGSDers will use their persistence log to keep themselves accountable. And they will be going in each week and just either sharing their full weekly review either a photo of their journal or just typing it out, or they will write a few dot points and keep it updated. So a lot of PGSDers find that really helps them to stay accountable. We have other PGSDers who have created a cannon sheet, a can of ship, accountability buddy relationships, where they have it on the PGSDer and they check in. I recently saw two of our PGSDers we’re celebrating doing that together for an entire year, which is super fun.
And the program itself is designed to help you learn how to stay accountable to yourself. So you don’t need someone to be there to keep you going. And that doesn’t mean we’re not there to support you and cheer you on. And so many of our PGSDers find that in PGSD, they actually meet people and you can really relate to that have a business, and that know what it’s like to be a perfectionist and have similar goals and have similar setbacks and fears. So you’ll really be just by being in PGSD, even if you lurk and you don’t post in the forum, that just by being in that environment, you will get out of your own way and be more accountable. What we are really focused on teaching you how to plan properly, so that you can hold yourself accountable.
And you’re then not delegating responsibility for your goals to whether someone keeps checking up on you. We really want to have you in the most empowered, self trusting position that you can possibly be in the whole PGSD process, including how we run the program is designed to get you into that growth mindset. And that’s what’s going to help you really stay accountable to yourself. What’s the next question. When teaching power planning, do you go over a framework that can be followed you provide ones for us to try one until we find what works best for us? So when it comes to the power hour, we teach you the exact steps to follow. So you know exactly what to do with different kinds of commitments, business tasks, which ones is the needle movers, which ones aren’t all of that kind of thing.
And we don’t provide you with, like an example that is actually a lesson in that you can have a look through my calendar and how I do it. But we don’t say this is what we recommend, spend this much time on Instagram, wake up at this time workout at that time, it wouldn’t make sense for us to do that. That’s not what we’re trying to achieve with power planning. Power planning is about having you trust yourself more, not having you trust me more. And so what we want to have you do is learn how to calendar and schedule your time in a way that actually works for you and your business. If I was to say, here’s what you should do with your time, it’s not going to make sense it’s not going to work for you. And it’s going to be so disempowering. Instead of saying you should wake up at this time or you should spend this amount of time on that task. We teach you how to figure that out for yourself. And we give you the coaching and support you need as you figure that out. It even though I know we perfectionist, we want the rules.
We want someone to say this is how you do it and exactly what it looks like. And we don’t want to just play into that perfectionist thinking. And that means that you’re going in this way, that three month commitment to power planning really matters, that it’s going to take you a minute to figure out exactly what works best for you. And you’re probably going to be a bit surprised because it might not be what you put in your calendar, when you’re trying to be like everyone else and wake up early, or do yoga, or all these different things that we think we should be doing. To have a successful business and be successful in life, it might look very different for you, when you actually get into a rhythm with power planning, and you realize how you work best and what works best for you and your family and everything else you have going on.
So we will support you to make power planning a tool that helps you trust yourself more, not a tool where you have to be told what to do. And as I said, we go through exactly what to do in your Power Hour, which I didn’t get into in the podcast. So you have all the guidance you need. But we’re not going to tell you what to put in your calendar, we’re going to teach you how to figure that out for yourself. So you’re more resourceful, so you’re more self trusting, you’re more resilient, then you’re really able to do that every stage of your business because it’s gonna keep changing as your business grows as you get a team as you have other things going on in your life, which we all do.
So yeah, I hope that answers that. Will cause what platform is the course hosted on. So we have a website, Perfectionistgettingshitdone.com. And we also have a forum as well. So there’s no Facebook group, it’s a forum. And that really keeps it easy to not go down the Facebook rabbit hole when you log in. And to also have things like the persistence log where you’re able to have your own, and keep updating it regularly and check in on what everyone else is doing. And if you want to do that, as well. And we have a section in there for questions and that kind of thing. And the website, you can access it from your phone and watch other videos. And we also have, as I mentioned, the PGSD private podcast, where you can listen to all the coaching call replay recording.
So new call replays uploaded within 24 hours and past calls or you don’t have to listen to them all. And you don’t have to listen to them in order. But they’re always there to support you in to really just solidify everything that we do inside PGSD. Procrasti-learning a lot of times looks like learning from a whole lot of different sources and kind of learning conflicting things, and then spending our time trying to piece together like what we’re going to do and apply. So by listening to the PGSD private podcast, you’re going to be able to hear the same things over and over and over again, apply it in so many different situations that it’s going to be so easy when it’s you and you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, you’re going to know exactly what to do.
Because you are able to live and breathe the tools, so much so that you know what to do next. Instead of like, well, there’s all these things and there’s always new things that are going on, I don’t know what to do. So I need to get support. It’s like you know what to do, because you have heard the same things said in so many different ways over and over again, that you’re actually able to live it. And a lot of times when we’re just learning new information that is procrasti-learning. And so as I said in PGSD, we’re not about procrasti-learning. So what you’re gonna find is in PGSD, we talk about things that we talk about on the podcast, the perfectionism project. And so if you’re expecting to join PGSD, and hear me talk about things you’ve never heard me talk about before, like there are some things I share in there in detail that I haven’t shared elsewhere.
But it’s not a place for you to get more information. So even when they’re being treated. There is other information in there that you haven’t had a if you are thinking well, I want to sign up to hear more things about perfectionism, it is not the best fit for you. We are really about application and to be able to be in a position where you’re applying what you know, you need to know it enough to be able to do that. And that requires repetition. So we have you actually get out of your own way. And in Episode 312 of the perfectionism project, I interviewed PGSDers Kristen Cain on the difference between listening to the podcast and being in PGSD. And how even though we talk about the same concepts inside PGSD, how it’s totally different to be in there into being a podcast listener and just trying to apply that for free. So if that’s where you’re currently at listen to that episode. Yeah, so have that is that.
Do we have time to get to know you directly and are others in the program? Or is it mostly self study? So we are a community you will get to know everyone else through hearing the coaching calls. If you go to the calls live you’ll be able to chat with everyone else via the online chat. And we have the PGSD forum where you get to do everyone else as well. Community is such a powerful part of getting out of your own way in overcoming perfectionism. Because a lot of us and this is why I started PGSD. One of the main reasons was because I was when I was a one on one coaching a coach, one person in the next person and the next person, the next person on exactly the same thing. And I was like, if they could only know they’re not the only ones struggling with this, that would already release so much of the shame they’re having that is keeping them stuck, because they think I should know better than to be procrastinating. I should know better than whatever it was to just know, like, oh, you’re not the only one like, there’s a word for it, perfectionism. So by the very nature of that, if there’s a word for it, it means that you’re not the only one.
And to really just hear others going through those same struggles, and overcoming them and not feeling alone. Like to just, there’s so much power and benefit in just not feeling alone, like not feeling like you’re on this journey by yourself. And you don’t really know anyone in your real life who has a business. And so you’re trying to maybe explain it to them, and they’re not really getting it. And then you’re trying to believe in yourself, and all these things. And it’s just so challenging when you’re by yourself, and you don’t have other people around you who get it. So in PGSD, you will meet other people and become friends with other people who get it who know what it’s like, and who are able to cheer you on and who are also able to call you out and self sabotage as well.
Yeah, it’s really about that community. And guess you’ll learn so much you’ll be doing the things and all of that. But you will also feel like you belong. And it’s such a safe space that we cultivate inside PGSD. That’s what our PGSDers tell us. And they are able to on coaching calls, talk about things that they haven’t talked about, even with some of their closest people in their life, because of the shame they felt around it. And then being in this safe place where other people are talking about similar things, and helps them realize they’re not alone. There’s nothing wrong with them. And it’s okay to share it and they’re going to be able to move past it as well. So, yes, you will be able to definitely, some really other people inside PGSD.
Is the program to help someone who’s already a coach, stop procrastinating? Or is someone who isn’t a coach to learn how to coach as well? Is the right program take if I want to be a coach. So okay, as I mentioned, PGSD is for business owners, not just coaches. So there’s a whole lot of different kinds of entrepreneurs inside PGSD. If you want to learn the skills of coaching, you’ll be able to witness coaching happening. But it is not a program that’s going to teach you how to be a coach. It’s really a program to teach you as an entrepreneur, how to get out of your own way how to take the things you already know you need to do and actually do them and to do that by planning properly. So we teach power planning, which is plenty in a digital calendar, the three steps, the Power Hour, little tweaks, weekly review, there’s also a whole PGSD process to support you with that.
So you have your growth goal, then you learn specifically about procrastination for perfectionist, overwhelm, burnout, all these different things as well. I’m interested in PGSD and power planning, but I don’t run my own business, or plan to start running one. So if that is you, then we don’t recommend signing up for PGSD. Because that is for business owners, we want to make sure that everything we talk about and all the calls is relevant to everyone on the call, and everyone who’s listening to the replay as well. So if that is you, I recommend continuing to listen to the perfectionism project podcast. Do you have a short version or intensive version of PGSD I’m not sure lifetime access is the right fit for me? So in terms of lifetime access, I want to talk about this because it doesn’t mean it’s going to take your lifetime to get out of your own way, or that you have to be doing this work forever.
And so what we have is a lifetime access situation so that you’re able to sign up for PGSD, you’re able to do that, once you get out of your on away, you are able to do that if you want to in an intensive manner. And you are able to see a lot of progress very quickly. And we have that three month commitment which in the whole scheme of how long you’re going to have a business like me, for example, I’m hoping to have a business for 50 more years. So three months of that is very doable. So in terms of you have that three month commitment to power planning, which is when you are practicing, planning properly as a perfectionist so that following through is easy. Because the reason you haven’t been following through is just because you haven’t been following the right advice for planning and a lot of the advice out there for perfectionist or for people in general doesn’t actually apply for perfection.
So we have you getting the right advice for a perfectionist and practicing that. And you’re going to see so many things start to change in yourself in your business. People around you won’t be able to help but comment on how much you’re changing in terms of being organized and proactive and doing what you said you would do and that has so much benefit when it comes to things like your relationship. I recently wrote an email about this. But it has such a profound impact on your relationship. When you go from telling your partner, you’re going to do things and you’re not doing them and then getting to this point where they kind of know that if you say, I’m gonna do this thing, they’re like, Okay, great, knowing that you’re not going to do it. And the way that that kind of erodes trust in the relationship to then the point where you are able to be someone who says, This is what I’m doing, and they witnessed you do it, and do it in a really empowered way, not where you’re beating yourself up. And pressuring yourself and being stressed, but you’re able to say, this is my goal, and I’m going to achieve it. And then you do.
The impact that has on your relationship with yourself, with your partner with your friends, if you’re currently working with your boss, like it changes everything’s anyway, side tangent, but in terms of lifetime access, and PGSD, lifetime access is what we have what we provide you with, we have coaching calls all year round, it’s not just like the three months after you join, it’s all year, you’re able to come back to you have consistent access to the PGSD, private podcast and everything like that. So you’re able to get out of your own way whenever you find yourself getting back in it. So me for example, I am so much further out of my own way than when I first started. And I won’t share the whole story of that in this. But when I did start my business as a blog in 2013, I was paralyzed with fear of judgment with what other people told me because I thought it was so embarrassing that I even thought I could do it.
And I was just like crippled by my fear of judgment and the judgment I was making of myself, and to then really be in a place now where I am, it’s completely different to that place where I didn’t even want to tell anyone I knew about it, I didn’t tell anyone I knew about it for a long time. So it’s not to say that it’s going to take you a lifetime to get out of your own way is just to say, we’re going to be here to support you. So that’s where you get lifetime access. The next question, I’m interested in learning more about power planning and getting assistance and more insight into it from a shorter course. So join PGSD if you want to do power planning, is what I’m gonna say. Because this is again, when the three month commitment comes in, when you start power planning, you’re going to do it in a perfectionist way, you’re going to put too much on your plate, you’re going to skip clean rest, you’re going to want it to be perfect, you’re going to overthink it, all these everything’s going to come up.
So if you just do power planning, without the actual support that you need to help with that, without hearing others getting coached, and really figuring out how to make power planning work for you, then you’re just going to treat it like you have any other planning method, and you’re probably going to try it for a couple of weeks and then give up on it. So what we need you to do is to be committed to it and in terms of is there a shorter course about it? That’s a question that we ask when we’re looking for information instead of transformation. So we want to have you where you’re actually power planning. And when that is something that’s integrated into your daily, weekly, monthly live, it’s just part of it, you know, you’re doing you enjoy doing it works for you, and you’re doing the things you need to do in your business, you’re actually putting it in the past procrasti-learning, you’ve done to good use that in terms of a shorter course, like we have distill it down to the power planning lessons are as short as they can be, because we’re respectful unconscious of your time, and you’ve got other shit going on your life.
So it’s already distilled down in that the reason it’s inside PGSD is so you can get the support that you need to actually make it work. And that’s what we’re invested in instead of like, Oh, for sure. So many people, like 1000s of people would sign up if it’s just, hey, here’s a little thing about how power planning works, but would they actually do it? We want people who are committed to it who are willing to make the three month commitment, and to be able to give you the coaching and support you need so you can plan properly. So that following through is easy. Can you please share more information about the coaching process slash experience, the sorts of things people get coached on? Is it specific to their business or more so to their behaviors and habits. So as an example, I will point you towards episode 280 of the perfectionism project, I coached Kristen Cain on an episode that’s gonna give you a little insight into what a coaching call is like or a portion of a coaching call.
And in terms of what people get coached on. So what we will do is we will coach specifically on your business because that is what gives us access to the behaviors and the habit and the perfectionism so we don’t just give advice on coaching calls. So we’re not just talking about general principles. It’s really applying it to your specific situation, knowing that the more specific we are with the person being coached, the easier it will be for everyone else to apply to that orange situation, because they’re able to see the nuance, and to get the detail they need. But if we just try and stay broad, then this is going to be more like a podcast episode, where it’s this kind of high level idea, rather than actually coaching which is very different to that.
So, yeah, 280 is a good example of that. But we are going to coach you a lot on the behaviors and in terms of procrastination, overwhelm, had a power plant. And so helping you make that really work for you and your lifestyle. If you’ve got kids, you’ve got a job, you’ve got other things going on. So we’re going to be looking at both, and talking specifically about both. And we know a lot about business and different businesses. So yeah, we’re going to talk about both. I hope that helps. But if we’re going to make sure that you are able to get out of your own way, and give you all the coaching, you need to be able to do that. Next question, do we have access to one on one q&a for help if need to be on the group?
So every question you have will get answered, come to PGSD forum, we make sure that everyone gets a response, whether it is from our team, or whether it is from another PGSDer. The reason I say that you might be thinking, I want an answer from you. You don’t because I know the best person to answer everything. There are so many PGSDer responses, we see the things that we’re like, Yes, amazing. That is so much more helpful than anything we could have ever said when others are sharing their experiences, the lessons they’ve learned, and their different take on things, it’s so helpful to hear that. So we make sure that you get the response you need, whether it’s from us, we have community managers, or whether it is from another PGSDer, which as I said, is often more beneficial.
I’m in and other program, should I wait until it’s over before I joined PGSD? So this is the last question I’m going to answer. I know there’s been a lot I hope this has been helpful and giving you more of an understanding about PGSD. I also want to mention that if you go to the PGSD sales page where you can sign up, there’s a video in that as well, where I go through what it’s going to be like when you join PGSD, what your first month and beyond is going to look like and everything like that. So you can go to samlaurabrown.com/phsd to go and have a look at that video. But the correct answer is question in another program, should I wait until it’s over before I joined PGSD? So in most circumstances, I would say you should join PGSD. And you should join now because of the synergy that is going to be there between PGSD and the other program.
And because of the way that is going to help you apply what you are learning in that program and actually implemented and take action we have had so many PGSDers who have done marketing programs at the same time, or manifestation programs, so many different kinds of things. And they have said that because they were in PGSD, they were able to get so much out of the other programs. As I said, we have set PGSD up expecting you to be doing other things in your life, including working your business, you already might feel like you don’t have enough time for your business. So we appreciate that, that you’ve got other things going on that you’re probably going to be learning things as well about marketing, or operations or anything else like that.
So we have, as I said, distilled everything down and made it as accessible as possible with the private podcast, so that you have enough time to be doing all the other things you need to do including working through another program PGSD isn’t going to overwhelm you, it’s going to do the opposite of that and get you out of overwhelm in every area of your life, because you will be planning properly. So with this other program, and PGSD, you’ll actually be able to have the true because you’d be planning your time properly, you’ll be able to work through that program, and you’ll actually be able to do the thing. So as I said, where we have PGSDers and they’re doing other programs, they have said it has made them get so much out of the other program, or we’ve had PGSDers who have signed up for a whole heap of other programs in the past and have been jumping from program to program looking for the right answer.
And the best way to build a funnel or the best way to do that email lists and all these different things. So they’ve got a lot of knowledge. And with PGSD, you’re able to put past procrastinating to use and also if you’re currently in any programs, then you are able to actually make the most of that and that reminds me that one of our PGSDers who just sign up when she emailed us to say why she was saying that she’d sign up for a program. I think it was maybe about six months ago. It was a very decent investment for her business. And she hasn’t actually been able to do it. Like she’s been able to walk through the program, but she hasn’t been able to take the advice in the program and actually see the results in her business, because of the perfectionism because she’s in her own way. And so she’s signing up for PGSD specifically, tell her with their business, and to help her actually works through this other program, and make the most of that.
So when you are in PGSD, it’s not going to just help you with this program, that other one that you’re currently in, but every other program that you take in the future, and also past ones you’ve taken, I love to think of it as like the thing that makes everything else you’ve learned actually applicable, and you actually be able to do something with it. And I know, I just want to wrap up by saying this that so many of the PGSDers we help a so frustrated because they’re smart, they’re intelligent, they did well in school, they got a good job, like they know how to do shit when there’s a boss keeping them accountable, or when there’s a professor following up when the assignments do, but when they have to be their own boss, they push tasks off, and they aren’t able to do the things that they need to do. And that can be so frustrating me like, I know, I have, like everything I need. And I’m just unable to do anything with it, it kind of makes you think about if you’re cooking, like you’ve got all those glass bowls, with all the different ingredients on the table, you’re like, I just and I have the oven, and I just can’t bring myself to mix it together and put it in the oven.
Like we help you mix it together, put it in the oven, and really create the business that you knew you’re capable of creating. And being the kind of boss like, I like the kind of boss was gonna say I could cry when I think about like the kinds of bosses that we create inside PGSD, that kind of boss that you’re going to be for yourself that it’s like if you had a boss, who, at the beginning of every week handed you a plan and said, here’s what you’re going to do this week, here’s exactly what to focus on, I’m also considered other things you might be thinking about that aren’t important, we’re going to do them later. I’ve thought about when you have the most motivation during the weekend when you need to rest. And maybe I’ve also even thought about your cycle. I’ve thought about other projects that you keep pushing off, because they never seem like they’re important enough, I put a bit of time in there for that as well. You’ve got plenty of rest.
You’ve got everything you need, there’s a realistic amount of time to do everything, you’re going to finish work at a great time for you, you’re going to have enough time with your family, you’re going to be able to walk your dog, whatever it is, like, here’s this clip, and you can update it as you need to if anything comes up, you can just change the plan, and you’re going to achieve your goal. Like it’s so fun that you can be that kind of boss for yourself. And that when you have that kind of boss like we all know, if you’ve worked for a boss, the kind of work you do is impacted by who you’re working for. And if you’re working for a demanding like most perfectionists are the most demanding, least appreciative boss they’ve ever had.
If you’re working for that kind of boss, of course, you want to scroll through your phone, because nothing you do is ever good enough. So why would you even bother. But if you are working for a boss, who is able to be kind to you in a way that brings out your best work, and is also able to call out things when they need to and have those hard discussions and like a boss that is really nurturing you and your development and helping you to achieve your goals. At the same time as as I said, if you need a little call out of like, Hey, you said you do this, but you didn’t like did that to really support you like when you’re that boss for yourself, which is what happens when you’re planning properly, which is what we teach you to do inside PGSD. It impacts every area of your life and your business will actually be something that’s enjoyable instead of hustling and grinding to try and get to this goal.
And then when you get there, like oh, now I have to set the next one because I still don’t feel good enough. You will actually enjoy the day to day of your business. Instead of it being this cliche enjoy the journey, like cool, I’m gonna try and do that. But I’m not really interested because I’d rather just achieve my goals because I want to be productive and successful. And maybe if I happen to enjoy it or enjoy it later, then that’s fine. But this is the work that really has you actually enjoying the day to day of your business, which obviously friends and family are going to be positively impacted by that. But also your business is going to be so much more successful when you are engaged with it and connected to it. And even when shit happens that you didn’t expect, whether it’s inside your business or outside of your business, you’re going to be able to handle that and be resilient and growth minded.
Like that’s what we do inside PGSD that is what we are helping you to become that’s what PGSDers, are achieving currently past and present and future. So we would love to invite you into PGSD and to have you in our community and to help you get out of your own way. And to have you actually take your business that right now is underperforming, it isn’t making the impact that it could be, and have it actually making an impact in the world. And you been in a place where you’re able to trust yourself, you’re getting more customers more easily. You are making decisions, you’re able to do that without second guessing or overthinking you are making plans and following through with them you’re able to adjust and update as you go. And when you do that you don’t feel bad about it, you’re able to rest without guilt like all of that. That’s what we help you with in PGSD. So I really hope that this has been helpful. I want to again invite you to join PGSD and to sign up for this round so you can go to samlaurabrown.com/pgsd to sign up, we are strict with deadlines. So make sure you get yourself in there before that. If you have any questions that haven’t been answered by this, then you can email support@samlaurabrown.com. That’s the best place to go and we will respond to you as quickly as we can. I hope you are having a beautiful day and I hope to see you inside PGSD if you’re not in that already.
